Not a Right-Wing Christian? Have a Merry Christmas Anyway

Have you seen Mike Huckabee's commercial, the one where he wishes everyone a Merry Christmas? This article, rather its associated analysis, tags the commercial as a "religious message that excludes all religions except for the predominant Christian faith." Give me a break.

This is not a religious commercial and does not just address Christians and, specifically, conservative Christians, to the exclusion of anyone else. No matter what you call it, this is the Christmas season and you don't have to believe in the Reason for the season to be affected by, or benefit from, what happens in society at this time of the year. There is hustle, bustle, great sales at stores where everyone shops (Christian or not), and there's even good will towards men (and women) when people aren't fighting over the closest parking space or the last mohair sweater.

Come on, analyst. You're missing the forest for the artificial Christmas trees. Get a life. Take Governor Huckabee's advice. Relax and have a Merry Christmas, whether you're a right-wing conservative Christian or not.
